The Sacramento Monarchs today announce the organization’s complete television schedule. The Monarchs will be the only WNBA team to be locally televised on one of the four major networks (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC). The total broadcast package includes six locally televised games on News10, an ABC affiliate, and five nationally televised games, two on ABC and three on ESPN2.
The Monarchs will take to the News10 airwaves for the second season beginning with OPENING NIGHT, Saturday, May 22, at 7:00 p.m., when the Minnesota Lynx visit ARCO Arena. On Monday, July 12, News10 will broadcast from Detroit as the Monarchs take on the 2003 WNBA Champions Detroit Shock. This will be the second televised meeting of the season between both teams with the first being televised by ABC at ARCO Arena on Saturday, June 18.
On Saturday, July 17, News10 will feature a rematch of the 2003 Western Conference Finals when the Sacramento Monarchs travel to Los Angeles to face two-time WNBA Champions Los Angeles Sparks. These two teams will meet up again for a nationally televised game on Thursday, July 29, on ESPN2.
