Monarchs Announce Third Consecutive Opening Night Sellout
SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 21, 2004 – The Sacramento Monarchs announced that Opening Night on Saturday, May 22, 2004 versus the Minnesota Lynx, is sold out. This is the third consecutive Opening Night sell-out for the Sacramento Monarchs, who opened the 2003 season on Friday, May 30, 2003 and the 2002 season on June 1, 2002 to a sold out crowd of 17,317.
“Once again, this is an extremely exciting event for both the Monarchs organization and the City of Sacramento,” said Danette Leighton, senior director of marketing and Monarchs business operations for Maloof Sports & Entertainment. “This is a huge statement for Sacramento and women’s sports. We are incredibly thankful to our fans and the support of the community.”
Sacramento Monarchs games offer fun, affordable, summer entertainment for the whole family. Fans will also enjoy a host of premium giveaways and special promotions throughout the season. The Sacramento Monarchs are currently in their eighth season in the WNBA and will play 17 regular season home games at ARCO Arena. Tickets are available for all remaining Monarchs home games, including the next game on Thursday, June 3 versus the Los Angeles Sparks.
