Monarchs Announce Second Consecutive Opening Night Sellout
Monarchs 2003 Home Opener to be Celebrated by 17,317 Fans at ARCO Arena
SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 23, 2003 – The Sacramento Monarchs announced that Opening Night on Friday, May 30, 2003 versus the Phoenix Mercury, is sold out. This is the second consecutive Opening Night sell-out for the Sacramento Monarchs, who opened the 2002 season on June 1, 2002 to a sold out crowd of 17,317.
“This is truly an exiting event for the Monarchs and the City of Sacramento,” said Danette Leighton, senior director of marketing and Monarchs business operations for Maloof Sports & Entertainment. “We’re so thankful for the support the community has shown and this makes a big statement about Sacramento and women’s sports.”
