Head Coach Jenny Boucek

Head Coach Jenny BoucekOn the team's strategy:
“We do not change strategies every game for different teams. Our game is always we have to play with great focus, intensity and unity.”

On breaking the Shock's undefeated home winning streak:
“That makes it a little extra sweet. A win is a win, especially this time of year. We are fighting for a play off spot. A road win is always hard to come by but it definitely adds whipped cream on the top that they had not been beaten at home. At home they are the best team in the league for sure.”

On stopping the Shock's run late in the game:
“We just tried to stay in the moment. This team had been pretty battle tested in late game situations and we just wanted keep our composure and stay with what we do. So we just keep our poise and try to stay in the moment.”

Ticha Penicheiro

Ticha PenicheiroOn her health:
“I had a Charlie horse the last game in Atlanta, two nights ago. This morning I could not even run. I was limping but the adrenalin of the game and just getting warm out there. I had things to protect my leg and I thought I would just give it a go and I knew once I got going I would be fine.”

On the game:
"I don't know about it being easy. We won by three and they had a chance at the end because they shot two three pointers. This is a really good team and they hadn’t lost at home so we just played with a lot of pride and we believed that we had a chance to win this game."

Rebekkah Brunson

Rebekkah BrunsonOn their strategy:
“We just knew we had to play quick and get a lot of good transition stuff and play good defense. They are a team that can go individually so we knew that we needed to have a huge effort.”

On beating the Shock at home:
“It feels good. We came in here ready to win and we weren't even thinking about their record. But it feels great to be the first team to beat them here this season and I hope we can continue to win.”

SHOCK

Bill Laimbeer Head Coach Bill Laimbeer:
On Sacramento's game:
“I thought they played as good as they can play, they made shots, they played very hard. We didn't play badly, but in the first half we didn't come with the energy necessary defensively to win the game.”

On the game:
“We put too much pressure on making shots at the end of the game, you should take care of business in the first half. I thought our second half effort defensively was good, but we should have had that in the first half. I don't think we realized how hard Sacramento was going to play and how bad they needed to win this game. They really jumped on us in the first half.”

On the first loss at home this season:
“Its unfortunate that we lost a home game and gave one back to the Eastern Conference. But sometimes a loss could be a good lesson for us and hopefully it is.”

Deanna Nolan Deanna Nolan:
On the first home loss:
“We let them get up to a sizable lead in the first half and we dug ourselves a little hole that we couldn't get out of. They played hard. They played great. We just didn't match their energy tonight. They made shots.”
