Chelsea Newton

Chelsea Newton How would you describe the excitement you feel opening this Playoff series at ARCO Arena?
"Its always fun to be in the Playoffs. You work so hard, and this is what you work toward. The whole season is played just to make the Playoffs. We weren't picked to even be here, and we worked so hard to make it. Were just ready to seize the moment and have a good time."

Despite not having home court advantage, do you think opening the Playoffs at home gives you an edge in the series?
"Its always great to play at home first. We win our game here and we have to win one in San Antonio. Its not an advantage, but were glad we have a chance to play at home."

How does your anticipation for the first game of the Playoffs differ from your anticipation of the regular season opener?
"Its the Playoffs. In terms of the season opener, youve just been practicing for so long and youre just ready for that first game. Its a different kind of excitement. But this one right here is where players win Championships. Its just great excitement."

Do you make any adjustments to your pregame routine in the Playoffs?
"No adjustments. We look at it like its another game. I think it's heightened intensity on the court with both teams. As far as preparation, we treat it as just another game."

How is your ankle feeling?
"Its alright. I still have to have surgery after the season, so its not better, but I can play. Ive gotten used to playing on it."
