On Friday, November 8, Yolanda Griffith of the Sacramento Monarchs was on hand to open the Special Olympics of Northern California's 2002 Fall Classic. Griffith, an Olympic Gold Medallist herself, addressed more than 700 athletes and 200 coaches from throughout Northern California and inspired them with words of encouragement.
The Fall Sports Classic is an annual multi-sport, multi-day, Olympic style event in a world-class setting. The City of Sacramento hosted the 2002 Fall Sports Classic which included events such as, Powerlifting, Roller Skating, Long Distance Running, Soccer and Volleyball.
Griffith and the Sacramento Monarchs congratulate all 700 athletes who competed in the 2002 Fall Classic. Each and every one of you is truly a winner.
