Unlike the novel, A Tale of Two Cities, it was nothing but "the best of times" at last week's "Best of Sacramento" event. Maloof Sports & Entertainment was represented well by the Sacramento Monarchs, as well as the Royal Court Dancers, at the annual event. The organization was honored by winning a number of awards including:

Most Influential Local Person - Joe and Gavin Maloof
Best Judge of Talent - Geoff Petrie
Best Coach - Rick Adelman
Best Team - Sacramento Kings

Maloof Sports & Entertainment brought the sports world to the Sacramento Convention Center in the form af a locker room-themed booth. Both Kings and Monarchs lockers were displayed and Gatorade was provided for guests to drink. Names were also collected for a drawing for autographed Kings and Monarchs merchandise. Edna Campbell, Ticha Penicheiro and Yolanda Griffith signed autographs for more than an hour as an ever-flowing line of fans wrapped around the booth. The Royal Court dancers also took part in the autograph session and danced as a part of the show.

The party, which ran from 5:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. at the Sacramento Convention Center also featured the best food, wine, music and entertainment in Sacramento. The event helped to raise more than $150,000 for the local March of Dimes chapter.
