The following updates include games played through November 26, 2012.
Krystal Thomas – Jiangsu Phoenix (China): Thomas is averaging 17 points and 17 rebounds per game in China. On Nov. 20 in a 74-71 loss against Shanghai (Camille Little), Thomas had 21 points and 15 rebounds. On Nov. 24, she tallied 12 points and 19 boards in a 94-87 loss versus Shanxi. Charde Houston – Maccabi Ashdod (Israel): Thankfully, things have settled down in Israel for the time being. Houston, however, continues to have a huge impact on the early success of Maccabi Ashdod. Houston had an impressive 21 points on 8-9 shooting in a 95-68 win over Elitzur Holon (featuring former Mercury teammate Avery Warley). Most recently, Houston had 15 points and eight rebounds in a win over Elitzur Ramla on Nov. 26.
Sammy Prahalis – Prahalis has left Israel for family reasons.
Briana Gilbreath – Lider Pruszkow (Poland): Gilbreath had 10 points and five rebounds in a 58-55 loss against CCC Polkowice (Nneka Ogwumike, Belinda Snell). She next faces a Wisla Can-Pak team of Alana Beard and Tina Charles on Dec. 1. Lider P. remains in fifth place in the Polish League. Follow Gilbreath on Twitter here.
DeWanna Bonner – Nadezhda Orenburg (Russia): Bonner and Nadezhda continue to roll in both the PBL and EuroLeague. In a 95-54 win over Spartak N. on Nov. 25, Bonner had to play just 25 minutes and had 11 points, five rebounds and three assists. Bonner currently leads the EuroLeague in rebounding averaging 11.5 per game.
Candice Dupree – Spartak (Russia): Facing a tough Wisla Can-Pak team of Tina Charles and Alana Beard, Dupree and Spartak came up short in a 76-64 loss on Nov. 21. Dupree had six points, nine rebounds and four assists in the loss. They bounced back on Nov. 25 with an 84-45 win against Dynamo GUVD (Sidney Spencer). Dupree had to play only 15 minutes and tallied six points, three rebounds and four assists.
Diana Taurasi – UMMC Ekaterinburg (Russia): Still undefeated, Taurasi and UMMC picked up wins over Dynamo M. and Mondeville this past week. She had 19 points, four rebounds and three assists against Mondeville on Nov. 21 in an 82-55 win, and tallied 17 points and seven rebounds on 7-13 shooting against Dynamo M. on Nov. 25 in a 89-63 win.
Dymond Simon – Piestanske Cajky (Slovakia): Simon and Piestansky Cajky fell to Samorin 69-62 on Nov. 24. They are now tied for second place in the Extraliga standings at 10-2.
Lynetta Kizer – KB Stars (South Korea): Kizer played fellow Mercury teammate, Nakia Sanford’s One FX, tallying 18 points and 15 rebounds in their 61-59 win on Nov. 23. She followed that game with an impressive 30 points and 17 boards on Nov. 25 in a 66-62 loss versus Bichumi (Amber Harris). Follow Kizer on Twitter here.
Nakia Sanford – One FX (South Korea): As mentioned above, Sanford fell to Mercury teammate Lynetta Kizer’s KB Stars, 61-59, on Nov. 23. Sanford had 18 points and 11 rebounds in the loss. One FX did pick up a win over Winnus on Nov. 25, 58-57, with Sanford’s 22 points and 11 rebounds. Follow Sanford on Twitter here.
