Meyers Drysdale Returns as Guest Commentator on FS Arizona

Phoenix Mercury General Manager Ann Meyers Drysdale will provide color commentary for the Arizona State women’s basketball matchup against University of Washington on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 6:30 p.m. on FS Arizona. She will join play-by-play announcer Darren Sutton, the voice of the Sun Devils.

Meyers Drysdale established herself as an expert analyst on ESPN, NBC, ABC, FOX Sports and CBS and has done commentary for men’s and women’s basketball since 1979. In 2008, Meyers Drysdale joined play-by-play commentator Mike Breen at the Beijing Olympics to broadcast USA women’s basketball games. She has also been named one of the top 15 female sportscasters, both past and present, by the American Sportscasters Association.

A basketball legend in her own right, Meyers Drysdale remains the only female ever to sign a free-agent contract with an NBA team when she signed with the Indiana Pacers in 1979. The Naismith Hall of Famer was named as the third general manager in Phoenix Mercury history in September 2006 and has led the Mercury to two championship titles in three years.
