Mercury Signs Guard Jasmine James
PHOENIX – The Phoenix Mercury has signed 5-9 guard Jasmine James to a seven-day contract, the team announced today. James will be available today when the Mercury takes on the Minnesota Lynx at US Airways Center at 3 p.m.
James was selected by Seattle in the third round of the 2013 WNBA Draft and spent training camp and preseason with the Storm. James saw action in one preseason contest, recording four points, two assists and two steals in 14 minutes of play.
The University of Georgia graduate finished her collegiate career ranked among the Bulldogs' all-time top 10 in steals, assists, field goal attempts and games started, and in the top 20 in scoring. She helped lead Georgia to an Elite Eight appearance in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. James was named Second Team All-SEC twice and was a unanimous pick for the All-SEC Freshman team.
The Mercury roster now stands at 11.
