MERCURY FORWARD PLENETTE PIERSON
“My favorite holiday memory is just being together with all my family and friends, watching everyone open their presents and eating tons of food. What I am wishing for this year is another opportunity to play in the WNBA among all the great players and staff. I am also would like for more of my family to come see me play professionally.”
MERCURY GUARD TAMARA MOORE
“I think my favorite memory of Christmas will definitely be this year because I have been away from my family for three months playing overseas and it will really be special.
"The best Christmas gift I ever received was a Strawberry Shortcake bike with a banana seat … I rode that bike everyday! The worst gift I was ever given was a scarf my mother made. I wore it because she worked really hard on it (wink, wink).
"This holiday season I am wishing for a successful season with the Mercury in 2004 and a WNBA Championship (I am crossing my fingers)."
MERCURY FORWARD KAYTE CHRISTENSEN
“My best holiday memory would have to be last Christmas when I got to finally spend a long time at home during Christmas because during college we got only a few days. The best gift I ever received was when I was probably six years old and I wanted a play kitchen so bad I could taste it :) I remember Christmas morning, opening my bedroom door and seeing it sitting on top of the hearth with a big red bow around it. I was so excited but I couldn't get to it because it was surrounded by presents, not to mention we had to wait until my Mom was ready to unwrap them!
“The worst gift I ever received, sorry Mom, was a black leather bubble gum case with my initials on it. I don't know what my Mom was trying to tell me but this was a hard gift to act like I loved!
“I feel like I am too old now to really wish for anything this year for
myself for Christmas so what I really wish for is that my niece and nephews have a great Christmas and that the time I am home with my family is wonderful!”
MERCURY BROADCASTER MICHELE TIMMS
“The best gift I ever received had to be a two-wheeler bike that I had been asking for since I was 8 years old but one that Santa would never bring me because he thought I would be reckless. He finally bought me one when I was 17. I was over the moon, only problem was, by then it was time to get my drivers license. The worst gift I have ever received had to be knitting needles. This Christmas I am just wishing for an EARLY healthy birth for my first child.”
MERCURY ATHLETIC TRAINER CAROLYN GRIFFITHS
“My favorite holiday memory is my nephew’s second Christmas. He was
mesmerized by the whole event and the fact that he got presents. Watching him looking at the lights and opening gifts just to open them (he wanted to open everyone’s gifts) was precious. The best gift I ever received was the Barbie Dream House complete with the corvette and the horse!”
