Inaugural Father-Daughter Tourney a Success

Posted: June 18, 2004

Thirty teams of dads and daughters joined Mercury Players Anna DeForge, Shereka Wright, Tamara Moore, Lindsay Taylor, and former Mercury All-Star Jennifer Gillom for a fun-filled afternoon for the first-ever Father-Daughter 2-Ball Tournament on Saturday, June 12, 2004.

The 8-9 year old division finished up with Alexa and Shawn Hogberg in first place, Madeline and Seth Sulka in second place and Emily and Seth Sulka in third place. The 10-11 year old division was won by Rachel and Howard Epstein, with Candice and Steve Bomar in second and Jasmine and Robert Taliman capturing 3rd place. In the 12-13 year old division, Cara and Steve Bomar beat Kayla and George Peralta for the championship while Janassis and Kasey Taliman came in 3rd place.

All in all, it was a great afternoon for all the participants. All first place winners will have a courtside seat, locker room tour, and be recognized on the court during the Mercury-Sparks game on Friday, June 18th.

Stay tuned for the MOM-DAUGHTER 2-Ball Tournament in August.
