The Phoenix Mercury is proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity Valley of the Sun on a 2008 Women Build. Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity International program that trains women to make a difference by building homes and communities. Thousands of homes have been built by women crews around the world including 1,200 since the creation of the Women Build Program in 1998.
As part of the Mercury's commitment to this project we need you, the fans, to volunteer for build dates. Available build dates are shown below. The time commitment is from 7:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on the selected date. Previous experience is not necessary, tools and training will be provided. All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older.
Registration will be on a first come, first served basis. Mercury volunteers will be recognized on court during a 2008 Mercury game. Five lucky fans who volunteer for seven of the nine build dates will take part in the ribbon cutting with the 2008 Mercury team on Mother's Day weekend.
