Athlete of the Year

Diana Taurasi captured her third Olympic gold medal and her third USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year award in 2012. Taurasi, who was named a tri-captain of the U.S. Olympic squad, averaged 12.4 points per game.

WNBA Announces Rules Changes

The WNBA will implement new rules regarding flopping and defensive three-seconds, while also extending the three-point line, Chief of Basketball Operations and Player Relations Renee Brown announced following the league’s Board of Governor’s Meeting. The rules will go into effect beginning with the 2013 season.
