Lynx Coach Suzie McConnell Serio
"We never gave up. I'm very proud that we kept fighting back. I told the players in the locker room after the game, we can't put ourselves in a situation where we have to come back from 10 down with just five minutes gone in the second half. We need to come out of the locker room with more energy."

"I hate losing. I hated it as a player. I hate it even worse as a coach. The good thing about this is that we have to come back tomorrow and prepare. We don't have time to dwell on it."

"With a player like Leslie, you know that after every timeout or dead ball they will go to her. She's a great player that made tough shots. I don't think anything came easy. She had to earn everything. Tamika played her heart out. I can't fault her at all. She plays with so much heart."

"I really didn't understand the explanation (of the lane violation). He said she backed into the lane and didn't get back out. Katie told me she didn't get in the lane. It was Lisa talking to the official, and all of a sudden the whistle blew and she (Mabika) got another shot. I don't look at it like one play cost us the entire game. We had our chances to win. I'm very proud of our effort."

Lynx Guard Katie Smith
"L.A. found a way to win. They're the champs and they make shots when they need to, and get stops when they need to. We feel confident about our chances every night. I have confidence in our team and we feel good about going to San Antonio."

Lynx Forward Svetlana Abrosimova
"They knew what we needed to do when we were down three at the end, and they guarded against it. They were giving us the 'two' and I was just trying to get a shot at the rim to try and tie it, but I was well guarded."

"Every game is going to be tough in this league. It doesn't matter if they're the champs or not. We have to be ready to play every night. We need to do a better job of taking care of the ball and executing plays. We fought hard, and it just didn't work out."

Sparks Coach Michael Cooper
"We worked hard for this one and were fortunate to get it. The joy about getting this win is the back-to-back win. We had a tough game in Cleveland last night, and to come here, we knew it wouldn't be a cakewalk. This team had a couple of days off to prepare. It showed by the dogfight that we had. It was nip and tuck, and although we got up there a little bit, we always knew there wasn't a comfort zone until we were up and clock was over."

Sparks Center Lisa Leslie
"With Smith out there, Abrosimova and Sam, they're all pretty much the same type of players. They can score from the outside and they can penetrate. We were able to switch on defense. The hardest part that gave us the most trouble was when Abrosimova got out running, because she doesn't rebound at all. With me being the post guarding her, she was leaking out every time. But we made some adjustments in the second half."

Sparks Guard Tamecka Dixon
"You've got to take your hats off to Minnesota... They're only going to get better. We're glad we got them in their second game, because they're going to get better down the road."
