Tamika Williams Named Assistant Coach at Ohio State


June 3, 2003 — Lynx forward Tamika Williams has been named an assistant coach for the Ohio State women's basketball program, it was announced today by OSU head coach Jim Foster.

A graduate assistant for the Buckeyes during the 2002-03 offseason, Williams' primary duties will include on-the-floor coaching and recruiting responsibilities. She will serve as an assistant coach as she continues to play with the Lynx in the WNBA.

Williams, a native of Dayton, Ohio, is in her second year with the Lynx. The former Connecticut star was the sixth overall pick in the 2002 WNBA Draft, and averaged 10.3 ppg and a team-best 7.4 rpg in 31 contests during her rookie campaign. Williams is averaging 9.3 ppg and 6.5 rpg in four games in 2003.
