June 11, 2002 — The Lynx traded guard Betty Lennox to the Miami Sol for guard Tamara Moore. Moore, a native of Minneapolis who played at North High School, was the Sol's first-round pick (15th overall) in the 2002 WNBA Draft.

In five games with Miami in 2002, Moore averaged 5.6 ppg, 2.0 apg and 1.4 spg in 16.6 mpg. She scored a game-high 22 points against Minnesota in the Sol's opening-night 66-63 loss to the Lynx on May 28.

As a senior at Wisconsin, Moore earned First-Team All-Big Ten Conference honors after posting averages of 16.6 ppg, 5.1 rpg and 6.1 apg. She finished her four-year collegiate career as the Badgers' all-time leader in assists (554) and steals (353). The 5-11 guard was named the 1998 Minnesota Player of the Year and Miss Basketball after averaging 24.6 ppg, 11.2 rpg, 7.0 apg and 6.0 spg as a senior at North High School. Moore is scheduled to report to the Lynx on Wednesday.

Lennox, the 2000 WNBA Rookie of the Year, averaged 6.2 ppg and 3.2 rpg in five games for the Lynx in 2002. The 5-8 guard appeared in 48 games for the Lynx in her three-year WNBA career and finished with averages of 14.4 ppg and 5.2 rpg. Drafted by Minnesota with the sixth selection in the 2000 WNBA Draft, Lennox averaged 16.9 ppg and 5.6 rpg as a rookie. She appeared in only 11 games in 2001 due to a strained left hip capsule.
