And the #1 Draft Pick Goes To...
You can tell that I'm overseas because I found out "The Minnesota Lynx get the 1st and 4th pick in the 2010 WNBA draft" through Twitter. Most people may have seen it on ESPN or read it in the paper, but not me. After I read the "tweet", a term used on Twitter for message, I got up and did a little dance. I'm sure you can assume some of the obvious reasons that I was dancing, but some of the other reasons were the possibilities that were going through my mind. The first is that two of the top prospects out of the 2010 class of seniors are two of my teammates from UConn, Tina Charles and Kalana Greene. I bleed Husky blue, so of course I would love to see them on my team in Minnesota.
The obvious reason for my dancing is that we will have Seimone back and be two players stronger, granted everyone stay healthy. Putting all those things together, I think we may be able to make a great run at a championship. I just can't help but be excited about next year.
Also, as you know, Coach Jen has been working on the U.S. National team coaching staff so I got a chance to once again play for her. I was happy to see her and was able to build a better bond with her in the off-season. There are a lot of good things going on for the Minnesota program and I'm happy to be a part of it.
I mentioned earlier that I am overseas, but I didn't mention where and with whom. I'm in Vilnius, Lithuania with Quanitra Hollingsworth, yep my fellow Lynx rookie. Oh wait, we're not rookies anymore!! No more getting the balls, towels, and water for the "vets". I put vets in quotations because on our young team, Candice Wiggins was one of my vets and she's only been in the WNBA two years. (My other vet was Seimone.) Wow, now that I stop to think about it, things are really looking up. Oh, and I need to add that Candice said I made the All-Rookie Water Girl team. As you can see I take pride in everything I do. : )
Well I'm going to lay down and try to get some sleep, but this 7-hour time difference is killing me. We play the 2nd best team in Lithuania on Sunday so wish me luck! Until next time... Be Blessed
