June 14, 2003 — Lynx guard Katie Smith tied the WNBA single-game record with seven three-point field goals in the team's 77-72 victory at Seattle on Saturday night. She also tied a league record with five three-pointers in the first half.

Smith, who finished 7-for-10 from beyond the three-point arc and tallied a game-high 32 points, became the sixth WNBA player to connect on seven three-pointers in a game. Portland's Sophia Witherspoon tied the high-water mark most recently on June 29, 2001 at Miami.

Smith, the WNBA's all-time leader in three-point field goals with 309, became the first player in the league to eclipse 300 three-pointers on June 10 at Los Angeles. Before Saturday's contest, her previous single-game high was six three-pointers, which she set on five occasions, most recently at Phoenix on Aug. 1, 2001.

The 5-11 guard from Ohio State is the all-time leader in points scored in the history of women's professional basketball (ABL/WNBA) with 3,815 points. Smith's 32 points on Saturday night also give her nine 30+ point games in her WNBA career, second-most in league history behind Cynthia Cooper's 16.
