Guard Seimone Augustus will once again be a game-time decision for the Lynx, as she suffers through bursitis pain in her knee.

Augustus managed to play 26-plus minutes on the knee during Friday night’s game, but said afterward that the pain was excruciating.

Augustus did not participate in shootaround today, something that she says has become her “staple” over this last week as she tries to get her knee all the rest she can.

“Every move that I make I feel it, but it’s just like, mind over matter,” Augustus said about her attitude when she is on the floor. “You just have to get through it.”

She succeeded in compartmentalizing her pain against Washington, scoring 19 points—the second highest on the team—and she played like there was nothing wrong.

The driving force that kept Augustus in the game on Friday despite the pain was her competitive edge.

“I just think about not being the weakest link on the floor,” Augustus said. “I mean, I know I’m out there and everybody knows what’s going on with me so I don’t want to have to put that pressure on my teammates on either end of the floor to feel like they’ve got to do more than what’s necessary. So I just kind of push myself through.”

Augustus will be on the floor for warm-ups and said how she feels then along with evaluations from trainers will determine her status for Sunday’s game against Indiana.

Although Augustus did not participate in shootaround, she watched each play her team ran and each alteration coach Cheryl Reeve made. And she said the team will need to take two things into Sunday if they hope to beat the Fever: “Patience and poise.”

The Lynx host the Indiana Fever at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Target Center. The game can be seen on Fox Sports North and WNBA LiveAccess, and can also be listened to at BOB 106.1 FM.
