May 21, 2003 The Lynx today announced the team's 2003 Opening Night roster. Minnesota finalized its 11-player roster by placing guard Georgia Schweitzer on the Injured List with a meniscal contusion in her right knee. Per league rules, she must remain on the Injured List a minimum of three games.

The Lynx' roster features nine players who played with the team last season, and includes seven players who begin their third season in a Minnesota uniform. Guard Katie Smith is the lone player on the roster from the team's inaugural season in 1999. The 2003 roster includes two WNBA rookies: guard Teresa Edwards (second round, 14th pick) and forward Jordan Adams (second round, 18th pick). Adams is the sole player without any previous professional basketball experience. Forward Sheri Sam, who was selected in the 2003 WNBA Dispersal Draft, completes the short list of newcomers to the team's roster.

The Lynx open their fifth WNBA regular season on Saturday against the Sacramento Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. at Target Center. The first 2,500 fans 18 years old and younger will receive a free WNBA replica basketball courtesy of Spalding. Following the game, fans are invited to stay for a free post-game concert featuring Superchic[k], a Christian pop/rock band. For ticket information, please call 1-877-WNBA-TIX.
