Ros Casares vs. Spartak Moscow Quarterfinals Preview

Quarterfinals play in the EuroLeague kicks off tomorrow night and perhaps the most anticipated match up pits two Lynx guards against one another. Kelly Miller and last year's EuroLeague winner Spartak Moscow Region takes on perhaps the best team outside of Russia in Candice Wiggins' Ros Casares club.

Wiggins joined Ros just in time for its Eighth-Finals series win over Broker Kosice and made an immediate impact, scoring 23 points in her first game. Wiggins had this to say about her upcoming opponent. "Spartak has Diana Taurasi, Sylvia Fowles, Lauren Jackson, Sue Bird and Kelly Miller. Basically the All-WNBA First Team is on that team."

The latter of those players, Kelly Miller, comes off the bench for Moscow, relieving Sue Bird at the point. In 12 EuroLeague games, Miller is averaging 7.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg and 2.2 apg in 23.3 minutes a game. Miller has shown off her deadly accuracy from beyond the arc, shooting 58.3% (14-of-24) from long distance.

After going 10-0 in League play in 2008, Ros Casares was knocked off a year ago by Gambrinus Brno of the Czech Republic in Eight-Finals play. Meanwhile, Spartak took home its second straight EuroLeague crown, downing Gambrinus 75-60 in the Championship game to capture the title.
