Sugar Hill Gang to Perform at Game 1

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx announced that hip hop music legends “The Sugar Hill Gang” will put on a special halftime concert during Sunday's Game 1 of the 2011 WNBA Finals presented by Boost Mobile between the Lynx and the Atlanta Dream.

The original innovators of hip hop music, The Sugar Hill Gang will perform their hit singles "Rapper's Delight" and "Apache." The latter has been the Lynx players’ theme song since 2006, as it is used during both the team's pregame video and postgame dance following victories. The Sugar Hill Gang is a three-person hip-hop group comprised of Wonder Mike, Master Gee, and Henn-Dog.

After sweeping the Phoenix Mercury 2-0 in the Western Conference Finals, the Lynx will make their first-ever WNBA Finals appearance when they face off against Atlanta. In response to the demand for Sunday’s Game 1, the upper level of Target Center will be open. Tickets are available for as low as $15, and can be purchased by calling 612-673-8400, visiting the Lynx website at LynxBasketball.com or in person at the Target Center Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlets.
