In what's quickly becoming the norm for the '09 WNBA rookie, Rashanda McCants posted another impressive line in defeat for Israeli club Elizur Holon on Monday, Jan. 4. The North Carolina product tallied her 6th game of 20+ points this season, pouring in 21 in a 71-66 loss to visiting Maccabi Ashdod. This comes on the heals of a 29-point, 16-rebound, 6-assist effort on Dec. 21 in a 82-59 victory of Hapoel Tel Aviv, which at the time snapped Holon's 8-game losing streak. For the season, in 9 games, McCants is averaging 23.7 ppg, good for second-best in the league. McCants is also chipping in 9.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest.
Spartak Moscow 77, Szeviep 58
Kelly Miller and Russian powerhouse Spartak Moscow continued its perfect run through the EuroLeague Qualifying Round on Wednesday, defeating Hungarian squad Szeviep 77-58. Miller contributed 9 points, on 3-of-3 shooting from beyond the arc. In 9 EuroLeague contests, Miller is averaging 5.2 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. Searching for its fourth consecutive EuroLeague crown, Spartak Moscow sits at a perfect, 9-0, good for first in Group D, three games clear of Frisco Sika Brno and Fenerbahce S.K.

After dominating the competition in Lithuania though the first three months of the overseas season, Lynx guard Renee Montgomery has decided to stay Stateside for the remainder of the season. Ironically, former Lynx guard Lindsey Harding has replaced her on TEO Vilnuis' roster. Lynx center Quanitra Hollingsworth remains on the team. In other news, after six EuroCup contests with Municipal Targoviste, it appears Lynx center Nicky Anosike and the Turkish club have parted ways. Tina Thompson was signed to replace Anosike.
