Lynx To Host Taj Bobblehead Night On Tuesday, Sept. 4






The Minnesota Lynx today announced that the Tuesday, September 4 game against the Los Angeles Sparks will be Taj McWilliams-Franklin Bobblehead Night, presented by Boston Scientific. The first 2,500 fans to enter Target Center will receive an exclusive Taj McWilliams-Franklin bobblehead.

Playing in her 14th season, McWilliams-Franklin recently became the WNBA’s all-time leader in offensive rebounds, surpassing Yolanda Griffith. This season, McWilliams-Franklin is averaging 8.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game, while shooting 51.7% from the floor (seventh in the WNBA). She ranks second in the WNBA in blocks, averaging 1.4 per game, her highest average since the 2001 season.

In her career, McWilliams-Franklin ranks amongst the league’s all-time leaders in a number of categories, including second in rebounds (2,972), fifth in steals (576), fifth in field goals (1,954), seventh in blocks (431) and tenth in points (4,943). She needs just 28 more rebounds and 57 more points to join Lisa Leslie as the only two players in WNBA history to record 5000 points and 3000 rebounds in a career.

Tuesday’s game is also Close the Gap Night, presented by Boston Scientific, to promote heart health.
