Lynx Waive Jacki Gemelos And Chucky Jeffery



The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has waived guards Jacki Gemelos and Janeesa “Chucky” Jeffery. The Lynx roster now stands at 12 players in preparation for the league’s official roster cut-down deadline on Thursday, May 23 at 4 p.m. CT. The official roster limit is 11 players.

Gemelos, a third-round pick (31st overall) by the Lynx in 2012, appeared in one preseason game with the Lynx this season, converting on her only shot attempt, a three-pointer, in 5:35 minutes. Jeffery, a second-round pick (24th overall) by the Lynx in 2013, appeared in both preseason games, scoring two points and grabbing four rebounds in 17:42 minutes.

The 15th season of professional women’s basketball in Minnesota kicks off Saturday, June 1, at 7 p.m. when the Lynx take on the Connecticut Sun.
