Lynx To Host 4th Annual Catwalk For A Cure
For the fourth consecutive season, Minnesota Lynx players will trade in their high tops and uniforms in exchange for high heels and dresses on Thursday, August 23 for their annual “Catwalk for a Cure” presented by C.H. Robinson. All proceeds for the event, which is held from 5-8 p.m. in the Mall of America Rotunda, will go to the Lynx Foundation, which supports breast cancer research and support programs throughout the state of Minnesota.
“I’m extremely excited for this week’s Catwalk for a Cure,” said Timberwolves and Lynx President Chris Wright. “Breast Health Awareness Week is one of both the Lynx' and the WNBA’s biggest initiatives, and our annual Catwalk for a Cure event is a great opportunity for our fans to get to know our players personalities off the court, while raising money for an incredibly important cause. We’re proud to be partnering with C.H. Robinson to put on this great event.”
The three-hour event starts off with dinner and bowling at Sky Deck Sports Grille & Lanes at Mall of America beginning at 5 p.m. Starting at 6:30 p.m., the fashion show will begin, and Lynx players and coaches will be donning their handpicked personalized outfits and strutting their stuff on the runway. Throughout the show, fans will have the opportunity to bid on exclusive memorabilia, gift cards, golf certificates spa experiences and more, such as pink Lynx breast health uniforms and shoes.
Tickets for the fourth annual “Catwalk for a Cure” are on sale now for as little as $60 ($55 for season ticket members). This year’s Catwalk for a Cure is a part of the Lynx’ Breast Health Awareness Week, presented by Sanford Health. For 14 years, the program has focused on generating awareness and educating women about breast cancer in addition to raising funds for the initiative. During that time, the WNBA and its teams have raised more than $2 million to aid in the fight against breast cancer.
