Lynx Guard Seimone Augustus Earns ESPY Nomination


Earlier this week, Lynx guard Seimone Augustus was announced as a nominee in the category of “Best WNBA Player” for the 2012 ESPYs. Fans can CLICK HERE to vote for Augustus until July 9 at 10:59 p.m. CT.

Augustus led the Lynx to the first WNBA title in franchise history last season, averaging 24.7 points per game during the Finals en route to being named the 2011 WNBA Finals MVP. She finished the regular season averaging a team-best 16.2 points per game, while becoming just the third player in WNBA history to finish a season shooting better than 50% from the field, 40% from three-point range and 85% from the free throw line. Augustus was named Western Conference Player of the Month for July, in addition to being selected Player of the Week three times.

The 2012 ESPYs, hosted by Rob Riggle, will be broadcast on Wednesday, July 11 at 8 p.m. CT at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, Calif.
