Editor’s Note: Throughout the 2013 season, the Lynx Radio Network and LynxBasketball.com will highlight Lynx season ticket members who have been ticket holders for all 15 seasons through a Fan Spotlight series. Look for these interviews, conducted by Cal Soderquist, to be archived on LynxBasketball.com each Monday during the year. Today’s feature highlights Liz Snyder, a fan who has enjoyed watching the game grow.
What made you buy season tickets back in 1999?
"I was always interested in the WNBA and getting off a plane from Phoenix, my husband said they (the Minnesota Lynx) are asking for potential fans to sign up for tickets to know they have a fan base so we signed up on the same day."
"Yes, it was very fun to be there. At the time they had one player and they were just bringing her around the country. It was very fun."
Have you seen the game change?
"I think really just it's been a, and I don't mean to quote Lisa Leslie, but there has been an evolution and it's been fun to watch the players grow over the years and the profile of the players change. Much more athletic, taller and faster. It's just been an awesome game. There have been no bad minutes; it's just been awesome from the beginning. "
Do you think people gain something by going to the game?
"Yes, definitely, I think the people here are basketball fans, and always have been, the ones that have been around forever, and now it's just something else to watch. It's pretty amazing."
"Yeah, it's fun being here because it's so dynamic and everyone is so crazy and there's so much noise."
What are your expectations for the Lynx this season?
"I think they are doing great and will continue to do great things. I think Cheryl Reeve has a grip and she's going to keep adding the players that need to be added. Just making the team taller and stronger and more athletic and faster. It's just fun to watch."
How's the fan experience representative?
"The service from the reps is awesome, seriously. Our fan experience person is awesome. It's been really fun, we've moved al little bit here and there but wherever you are you probably have someone who's pretty rabid next to you so you become fans and friends over the season."
