Lynx Star Becomes First Women's Pro to Score 5,000 Career Points
Records and accolades are nothing new for Lynx standout Katie Smith. A holder of two Olympic gold medals, a retired number at Ohio State, league championships and almost every Lynx team record (along with a few WNBA records as well), Katie has earned nearly every honor a women's basketball player can.
Now she has become the first women's professional player to reach the 5,000 point plateau, which, is not a new experience for her either. She was also the first to 4,000 points in the summer of 2003.
