Quanitra Hollingsworth & Renee Montgomery (Teo Vilnius) vs. Anna Montaņana (Ros Casares)

An 0-1 Teo squad hosted Spanish power Ros Casares (1-0) on Wednesday in a Group A matchup. The Valencia-Spain based Ros Casares squad jumped out early, taking an 18-11 lead after one stanza. Things opened up for Ros, sparked by a 9-0 spurt midway through the second-quarter that lifted the lead to 31-15. Things continued to go downhill for Montgomery and company, and Montaņana and Ros took a 44-21 lead into the locker room. Things were much of the same in the second half, as Ros led by as many as 33 in the third quarter, and 39 in the fourth before settling for the 78-48 road victory. Ros shot 55 percent from the floor, while the home squad hit on just 38 percent of its shots. Hollingsworth led TEO with 12 points, to go along with a game-high 10 rebounds. Montgomery tallied 10 points in 33 minutes, while Montaņana contributed 10 points off the bench for Ros as it improved to 2-0 in Qualifying Round action. With the loss, TEO fell to 0-2.

Next Up: TEO will travel to Istanbul, Turkey to face off against Turkish power Galatasaray next Thursday, Nov. 12. Meanwhile, Ros will look to continue its perfect run when it plays host to 2009 EuroLeague runner-up UMMC Ekaterinburg next Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Charde Houston (Tarbes) vs. Lotos Gdynia

In Group D action, French squad Tarbes looked to improve to 2-0 in EuroLeague play when they traveled to Poland to take on Lotos Gdynia on Thursday. The two teams played to an even first half, and went into the locker room with the score tied at 44-44. With the score tied at 49-49, two Gdynia baskets game the team a lead it would never relinquish. Trailing by as many as 12 points midway through the fourth quarter, Tarbes began its comeback, using an 11-3 burst, capped by Charde Houston's three-point play, to climb back within 67-64 with just over a minute to play. Unfortunately for the French side, the score wouldn't get any closer, as Gdynia sealed the game at the free-throw line, making 6-of-6 in the waning moments to close out Tarbes, 73-68. Despite shooting just 44 (22-50) percent from the floor, Gdynia connected on 8-of-16 three-point attempts and 21-of-27 attempts from the line. Tarbes hit just 6-of-13 free throws. Houston's 19 points and 10 rebounds were both team-highs.
