Name: Lynetta Kizer
School Bio: Lynetta Kizer
It’s hard to believe you’re looking at the same person when you look at pictures of Lynetta Kizer from her freshman season and pictures from her as a senior. Thanks to her dedication in the weight room, Kizer has lost at least thirty pounds since her freshman season. Now a senior, she’s averaging 12.0 points and 5.8 rebounds in 24.0 minutes per game for the #6-ranked Maryland Terrapins (23-4).
“6'4 center who is a valuable 6th man on Top 10-ranked Maryland. She is an agile and skilled offensive player who is very effective around the basket and also possesses a face up game to 3-point range. Has a knack for getting offensive rebounds to put backs.”
- Cheryl Reeve, Lynx Head Coach
"Lynetta had a good season last year and an awesome experience winning a gold medal with USA Basketball in China over the summer. She always brings energy. Now as a senior, her challenge is to keep developing, take on more of the load and be consistent. We're looking forward to another big year for Lynetta."
- Brenda Frese, Maryland Head Coach
"Kizer's best attribute is the energy she brings whenever she's on the floor. She's a fierce rebounder and inside presence who also can step out and make a mid-range jumper and even a three-pointer on occasion. Kizer is an emotional leader both on the court and in the locker room."
- Gene Wang, Washington Post
“Lynetta is a prototypical post player. She has the 6-4 frame, she’s a tenacious rebounder and a hard worker off the court. She has also increased her range away from the basket, having improved from a pure inside scorer in her freshman season to developing decent 3-point range in her senior campaign. She also takes her role as one of the team’s vocal leaders very seriously, whether it’s talking on the court or cheering teammates on from the bench.”
- Josh Vitale, The Diamondback (University of Maryland)
“Kizer is an exceptional athlete who has all the physical tools to develop into a productive post player, particularly with an uptempo team.”
- Nate Parham, SwishAppeal.com
"Adjusted to new role of coming off the bench this season well. An excellent rebounder who can score around the basket."
- Doug Feinberg, Associated Press
“(Lynetta) works every possession: sits, shows, seals, ducks, pinches. Runs floor and rebounds, trail 3 emerging.”
