Name: LaSondra Barrett
School: Louisiana State
School Bio: LaSondra Barrett
It’s hard to find a player more consistent than LaSondra Barrett has been during her career in Baton Rouge. Barrett has averaged more than 12 points and 6 rebounds per game in each of the last three years, including averaging 12.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest as a senior. While her play in the post is superb, Barrett can also keep defenders off balance with her three-point range, shooting a career-best 41.2 percent from beyond the arc this season.
“6'2 versatile post whose best asset is her proficiency from 3-point range. Barrett is a good passing big, is a solid rebounder, and plays with a great deal of energy.”
- Cheryl Reeve, Lynx Head Coach
“LaSondra Barrett is a great player and has been for four years. I am not sure how great of a point guard she is but she looked like one of the best of all time. We could not take the ball from her, affect her or speed her up. We could not do anything to stop her. She played a lot because (Jeanne) Kenney was in foul trouble.”
- Matthew Mitchell, Kentucky Head Coach
“"Barrett is a versatile wing who can score in a number of ways, handle the ball and gets to the line at an extremely high rate, all of which make her a solid pro prospect.”
- Nate Parham, SwishAppeal.com
"A tenacious defender who has improved her field goal percentage this season."
- Doug Feinberg, Associated Press
““Handles in 6’2 frame good enough that LSU plays her 1-5, face up and/or post up versatility, should be able to guard other 3 in league.”
