Cleveland guard Suzie McConnell Serio was named the first recipient of the Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award on Aug. 25, 2000. The award is named in honor of former Houston guard Kim Perrot, who passed away in 1999 after a seven-month battle with cancer.
