Seattle guard Sue Bird and Indiana forward Tamika Catchings each earned 2002 All-WNBA First Team honors. It marked the first time in league history that two rookies have earned that distinction. Players were named to the all-league teams by a panel of 60 national sportswriters and broadcasters.

Lynx guard
Kristi Harrower won a bronze medal with the Australian National Team at the World Basketball Championships in China last month. Harrower, the captain of the national team, scored 11 points and dished out four assists in 29 minutes as Australia defeated Korea 91-63 in the bronze-medal game
