WNBA Fact
At the start of the 2001 WNBA season, 62 international players from 24
countries and territories appeared on WNBA rosters, a total of 29 percent of
the league's players and an increase from 38 players the previous season.
The 2001 WNBA Draft saw a record 15 international players from 10 countries
and territories drafted. In 2001, WNBA games were broadcast to 167 countries
in 23 different languages.

Lynx Spotlight

Following her junior year of college, Lynx guard Erin Buescher transferred from the
University of California-Santa Barbara to The Master's College, a small
Christian school in southern California. Prior to transferring, Buescher was
named the Big West Player of the Year all three seasons (1998, 1999, 2000)
at UCSB. She earned National Christian College Athletic Association Player
of the Year honors as a senior at The Master's College.
