"Can you tell me anything about how
Svet is doing with the gambrinus JME
team in the Czech Republic? I have a satellite package and watch all the
Lynx games I can get. As you can guess, I'm a Svet fanatic. Thanks and good
luck this season."

Hi, Bill. Svet is doing very well with her Czech team. She is almost 100
percent recovered from her injury. However, it looks like her team will not
make the playoffs. By the time she got there, the team had several losses. I
anticipate her to come back to the United States a little early. I know that
she would like to attend the Women's Final Four in San Antonio.

Quote of the Week
"When you play with people who have been around five years in this league,
they know the travel situations, they know the psychological situations, and
if they hit a rut, they know enough to right themselves. The rookies aren't
used to that."
—NBC-TV analyst Ann Meyers, commenting on the difficulties of being a
rookie in the WNBA. The quote appeared in the Minneapolis Star Tribune on
Aug. 7, 2001.
