WNBA Fact
Only two players have started every game for the same team in the WNBA's
five-year history. Charlotte's Andrea Stinson and New York's Teresa
Weatherspoon have started all 154 games in their respective club's history.

Betty Lennox Mailbox Answer
"What was the hardest adjustment going from college to the WNBA? Was it hard
for you to make the jump?"
John
Minneapolis, MN
Hi, John. The hardest adjustment that I had to make coming from college to
the WNBA was the physical play. The WNBA has the best women players in the
world and they are extremely tough. The players at this level are very
physical, particularly near the basket. I feel that I'm still having to
adjust to that a bit. Was it hard to make the jump to the pros? Yes and no.
Yes, at first it was difficult because I was not use to being pushed around
so much during games. But I realized that I had to make that adjustment and
I was given the time to make it by playing a lot as a rookie. I think that
I've now learned to handle the physical style of play. Thanks for writing
and have a blessed day.

Quote of the Week

"I'd like to go home and sulk about the loss, but as Brian [Agler] says, you
can't hang your head. You don't have time to hang your head. You just have
to get ready to play tomorrow."
—Lynx forward Erin Buescher, following a 62-60 defeat to the Washington Mystics at Target Center on July 27, 2001. Washington's Chamique Holdsclaw hit the game-winning basket with 4.2 seconds remaining.
