WNBA Fact
With the resignation of Washington Mystics head coach Tom Maher last week,
the Mystics will begin the 2002 WNBA season with their sixth coach, the most
in the league. Four WNBA teams (Charlotte, Los Angeles, Sacramento and Utah)
have had four different coaches. Houston's Van Chancellor is the only
remaining coach from the league's inaugural season in 1997.

Betty Lennox Mailbox Answer
"How do you mentally prepare for a game?"
Chelsea
Watertown, MN
Hi, Chelsea! I pray three times before I go out on the court. When I do
that, everything seems to be all right. That is the only way that I get
mentally prepared for a game. Thanks for writing, and God bless.

Quote of the Week
"It's good to be back here, somewhere familiar. But you always want to win.
I liked seeing everybody. The crowd here was very supportive of me, cheering
me on. You can't ask for anything better than that. But it's hard to play
against
Katie (Smith) when she's on the other team... You've got to know that she is going to get hot. As a team, we didn't guard her very well."
—Former Lynx guard Marla Brumfield, following her return to Target Center as a member of the Miami Sol on June 22, 2001. Katie Smith led Minnesota with 26 points en route to a 63-57 victory. Brumfield played with the Lynx during the 2000 WNBA campaign and was traded to Miami for guard Georgia Schweitzer in April
2001.
