WNBA Fact
In the history of U.S. women's professional basketball, only one player
began her career in the ABL, joined the WNBA, and then returned to the ABL:
Debra Williams. Williams played two games for the ABL's Seattle Reign during
the 1996-97 season. The Charlotte Sting selected Williams in the third round
(No. 23 overall) of the 1997 WNBA Draft. In 1997, Williams appeared in 10
games for the Sting before being released. She re-signed with the ABL, and
played in 13 games for the Portland Power during the 1998-99 campaign. In
her 25-game professional career (WNBA/ABL), Williams averaged 3.4 ppg and
1.0 rpg.

Betty Lennox Mailbox Responses
"I'm 12 years old and an okay basketball player. My team is really good and I
want to be part of it. I am asking for advice to improve my game. Thank you!"
Bridget
Indiana, PA
Hi, Bridget! First, to improve your game you must believe in yourself. You
need to also put trust in your coach. He or she can really be a big help in
improving your game. Also, you must trust your teammates. And of course you
need to do a lot of extra work on the basketball court. That means practice,
practice and practice. Thanks for your question!

Quote of the Week
"I like being able to contribute. I'm young, I'm getting huge opportunities
from this team and from the coach. Whether I am on the bench or on the
court, it's fun. Everyone on this team is really supportive of each other."
—Lynx rookie forward Erin Buescher, after Minnesota's game against the New York Liberty on July 6, 2001.
