Alana and Seimone, to me, are two of the best young players in the league today…I don’t know how many people would have predicted that Seimone would have burst onto the WNBA scene the way she has. She came out with us on our trip to Australia the last two weeks of our six week training period after her season was over at LSU and she did a great job in a very short period of time on a team comprised of many of our veteran players, showed how capable she was at the senior level. So both Alana and Seimone having a ton of experience a with USA basketball, but at the senior level in the spring showed everybody just how capable they are. So they’ll give us more depth in our perimeter positions and will help us in developing down the road. So as the coach of this team, I’m very pleased with the additions.
Seimone Augustus
It’s very exciting to play USA basketball and I think the experiences that I’ve had with USA basketball have only helped me be a better player. If I wasn’t cut years back, I would still be needing to develop skills. Because I was cut back then, it only helped me become a better player. Now since I’ve experienced USA basketball, It’s the best experience that you could ever have in your basketball career. To be able to play with some of the best players ever to play the game is always wonderful because they are there to give you advice, to help you become that next player to take on the torch to keep the success going for USA basketball.
