lynxbasketball.com: What were your initial thoughts upon learning you had been named to the All-Star team?
Seimone Augustus: I was surprised. I knew that I probably had a good chance to make the team because of my individual performances but when I heard that I made it, it sent chills down my back. I will always be a part of the 2006 WNBA All-Star team and to be part of that history is a wonderful feeling.
lynxbasketball.com: Who was your first phone call to?
Seimone Augustus: I didn’t have to call anybody it seems everyone knew before I did. My parents must of known before hand because I think they were trying to keep it a secret but they were asking questions like “Are you going to go to NY and watch,” so I knew something was up.
Seimone Augustus: A lot of folks from back home called,
Tyrus Thomas called me… I didn’t have to make any calls because they all called me.
lynxbasketball.com: When did it hit you that you were an All-Star?
Seimone Augustus: I realized it when I walked into the hotel in New York and saw all the banners and signs referring to the WNBA All-Star game and then you see people waiting outside to get your autograph on the WNBA trading cards and you realize your one of the best-of-the-best, an all-star so I just tried to embrace the moment.
