Minnesota Lynx Activate Forward Jacqueline Batteast

July 31, 2005
The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has activated forward Jacqueline Batteast and placed guards Stacey Thomas (right hip flexor) and Tynesha Lewis (plantar fasciitis, left foot) on the Injured List. Batteast will be available to play tonight against the Sacramento Monarchs at Arco Arena (8 p.m.).

Thomas was acquired yesterday, along with guard Chandi Jones, in a deal that sent Katie Smith to the Detroit Shock. Thomas and Jones are set to join the team in Phoenix tomorrow.

Lewis signed her first of two seven-day contracts with the Lynx on July 11. She is averaging 2.2 points and 7.0 minutes per game. Lewis played in 10 games for Charlotte this season and averaged 4.7 ppg and 2.0 rpg in 16.6 mpg prior to being waived on July 6. Per league rules, Lewis and Thomas must remain on the Injured List a minimum of three games.
