Tuesday Training Camp Report

Following the first and only exhibition game of the season, the Lynx returned to the practice facility this week to determine the final roster spots before the season opener on June 6.

Similar to most coaches, Don Zierden would like more time to work with his team before the first game against Chicago. Coach Z discussed the 17-point loss to Indiana after the Lynx built a four-point lead at halftime. The headman was pleased to see the production from rookie Quanitra Hollingsworth but was concerned with the amount of turnovers from the fourth overall selection in the 2009 WNBA draft, Renee Montgomery. During the next 10 days, Coach Z will use the magnifying glass to examine the talented roster and shave it down to just 11 players.

Charde Houston posted 10 points on 4-for-8 shooting from the field on Saturday afternoon. The second-year forward was focused on taking better care of the basketball after she committed four turnovers in the loss to Indiana. With training camp heating up, Houston is preparing for a physical and crucial week before the Lynx battle the Sky in the first regular season game.
