Lynx Sign Guard Roneeka Hodges

The Minnesota Lynx today announced that they have signed restricted free-agent guard Roneeka Hodges. The Lynx selected the four-year veteran guard in the dispersal draft from the Houston Comets.

Hodges joins the Lynx after averaging 4.8 points and 1.4 rebounds in 103 career games, 18 starts. In 15 games, six starts, with Houston in 2008, Hodges averaged 7.3 points and 2.0 rebounds. Hodges averaged a career-high 7.5 ppg in 33 games with Houston in 2006. The 5-11 guard is a career 33.5 percent three-point shooter, including a career-best 36.7 percent in 2006. Houston originally selected Hodges in the second round (15th overall) of the 2005 WNBA Draft.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Hodges played her first three years of college basketball at Louisiana State University before transferring to player her senior season at Florida State. Hodges averaged 19.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 32 games with the Seminoles in 2004-05, earning Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention, Kodak Region II All-America and All-ACC First-Team honors. In three seasons with LSU, Hodges averaged 7.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 94 games.
