Lynx Add Two to Complete Training Camp Roster

The Minnesota Lynx today finalized their 2009 training camp roster by signing former first-round pick Kamesha Hairston and 2009 undrafted free-agent Aisha Mohammed to training camp invitations. With today's signings, Minnesota's roster now stands at the maximum 15 players.

Hairston, originally drafted 12th overall in 2007 by Connecticut, comes to the Lynx after averaging 1.9 ppg and 1.8 rpg in 17 games with the Sun in 2007.

The six-foot-one forward played four seasons at Temple, where she left fourth all-time on the Owls' career scoring list (1,573 points) and second in steals (234). The Toledo, Ohio native enjoyed a tremendous senior year, leading the Owls in scoring (18.9 ppg), rebounding (8.6 rpg) and steals (61) en route to being named the 2007 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year. Hairston also garnered Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention honors in 2007 and was named to the Atlantic 10 First Team and All-Defensive Team her junior and senior seasons.

Mohammed, a six-foot-three center out of Virginia, joins the Lynx after earning ACC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in 2008 and 2009. Mohammed averaged 12.9 ppg and 9.7 rpg during her two years as a Cavalier. Mohammed transferred to Virginia after the 2005-06 season from Central Arizona College where she was named a First-team Kodak/WBCA All-American in 2006. Mohammed was forced to sit out the 2006-07 season due to a knee injury sustained while playing for Nigeria in the World Championship in September of 2006.

The Lagos, Nigeria native played for her home country in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece and totaled eight points and 13 rebounds in Nigeria's first-ever Olympic win, defeating Korea. Mohammed also played for Nigeria at the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Brazil.

The Minnesota Lynx will hold their Media Day on Friday, May 15 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. in the Timberwolves/Lynx Practice Facility at Lifetime Fitness. Minnesota will then open its 2009 Training Camp the following Sunday, May 17 at the Timberwolves/Lynx Practice Facility. The team's lone exhibition contest will be on Saturday, May 23 vs. Indiana at Claire Lynch Hall on the campus of the College of St. Benedict.
