Augustus, Galatasaray Capture EuroCup Title

Two for two. Seimone Augustus and Galatasaray made it a clean sweep of European supremacy for the Minnesota Lynx, as the Istanbul-based club became the second team that features a Lynx star to claim a European crown.

Just days after Kelly Miller, Noelle Quinn and Spark Moscow dominated the competition en route to the EuroLeague title, Augustus became the next Lynx player to take home a piece of hardware after her squad defeated Italian side Taranto 82-61 in Game 2 to claim the total-point Championship series win.

Augustus and company rebounded from a Game 1 loss to claim the two-game, total-point series 137-128. Galatasaray's 82-61 win in Game 2 overcame a 55-67 loss in Game 1. In Game 2, Augustus tallied 23 points, 6 rebounds and a season-high 7 assists.

With the victory, Galatasaray gains an automatic berth into next season's 24-team EuroLeague field.

For the season, in 15 EuroCup games, Augustus averaged 20.0 ppg (.544 FG), 4.6 rpg and 1.8 apg.
