Minnesota Lynx Announce 2005 FSN North Telecast Schedule
MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL -- The Minnesota Lynx today announced its local television schedule for the 2005 WNBA season. FSN North will locally televise a total of six Lynx games.
Five of the six telecasts will feature Target Center dates, including the FSN North tipoff on June 4 against former University of Minnesota All-American Janel McCarville and the Charlotte Sting. The lone road telecast is June 30 at Connecticut and features a matchup against the Sun and another former University of Minnesota All-American Lindsay Whalen.
For the third straight season, Lynx telecasts will feature an all-female broadcast team consisting of Marney Gellner (play-by-play) and Andrea Lloyd Curry (analyst). Gellner, who serves as the host of the Minnesota Timberwolves pregame show and courtside reporter for the team's telecasts on FSN North, enters her third season as the television play-by-play announcer for the Lynx. Lloyd Curry, a former Lynx player (1999, 2000) and 14-year veteran of women's professional basketball, returns for her fifth season as an analyst for Lynx telecasts.
FSN North is in its seventh year of telecasting Lynx games. In addition to the six games on local television, ESPN2 will nationally telecast two Lynx games: July 17 vs. Connecticut and Aug. 23 at Los Angeles.
The Minnesota Lynx open the 2005 regular season on the road against the Houston Comets. The team's home opener is May 25 vs. Los Angeles at Target Center. The Lynx will also host a preseason game, May 14 against Connecticut at Williams Arena on the campus of the University of Minnesota.
