Lynx to Spread Holiday Cheer with the 12 Days of Giving






MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – Fresh off the team’s second championship in the last three seasons, the Minnesota Lynx today announced the inaugural 12 Days of Giving. Beginning today, Monday Dec. 9, the 12-day event is a chance for the organization to give back to the community and help spread holiday cheer to those in need. The event will include social media giveaways and volunteer events by Lynx staff members, season ticket members and coaches in the community.

Highlights of the team’s 12 Days of Giving include:

  • Thursday, Dec. 12: A group of Lynx Season Ticket Members will join Lynx staff members in volunteering at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) from 2-4 p.m., handing out holiday treats and Lynx-themed presents to patients as they arrive at the downtown campus.


  • Wednesday, Dec. 18: Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve will join mascot Prowl at the Children’s Hospital Minneapolis at 11 a.m. to drop off some Lynx holiday prizes. Coach Reeve and Prowl will also be special guests on Star Studio, which is Children’s Hospital’s own closed circuit television channel. Their appearance will be streamed live online at www.childrensmnstarstudio.org as well as broadcast to all patient rooms in both the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses.


  • Thursday, Dec. 19: Lynx staff members are partnering with Aeon to play BINGO with residents. Beginning at 2:30 p.m. at Lamoreaux Apartments in downtown Minneapolis, Lynx staff will help call numbers and hand out Lynx prizes to winners.

    Additionally throughout the 12 Days of Giving the Lynx will be holding social media giveaways on both Twitter @MinnesotaLynx and Facebook Minnesota Lynx Fans are encouraged to keep their eyes posted on both outlets for the chance to win great Lynx prizes including autographed posters and basketballs, bobbleheads and tickets to future games.
