Lynx Coach Suzie McConnell Serio
"I thought we got good performances from our newcomers. Tasha Butts came off the bench and did a great job. So did Stacey Lovelace-Tolbert. And Nicole Ohlde — look at her line: 16 points, 10 rebounds, with five offensive boards. I’m very proud of that effort."

"Across the board, the effort was great. We talk about everything comes down to decision making and we had 22 turnovers, which they scored 27 points off of. They scored 24 points from the line. That's 51 points right there, so we need to do a better job of taking care of the ball. We need to play better defense and not put them on the free throw line."

Lynx Center Nicole Ohlde
"There were spurts in the game that went well. There were times in the second half when our whole offense was clicking. We got stops on the defensive end, but there are definitely a lot of areas that need improvement. There are a lot of areas that I need to improve in as well."

"It's definitely a learning experience. We're getting a feel for each other. At the end of the game we had two rookies out on the court. It's just a matter of still getting a feel for each other and figuring out what everyone does out there."

"(Lauren Jackson) is a tremendous athlete. She is so incredible. She does so many things — stepping up and knocking down threes, taking it inside. She's very versatile. She's good, really good."

Lynx Guard Teresa Edwards
(On the last sequence)
"What do you want to know? I feel like I got fouled and the ref didn't call it. It's a crucial point in the game... Any time you're on the road, you can't leave the game in the officials' hands, especially if it's that close — it's going to be tough. Not that it was the officials' fault, but you have to do your best to not make it a close game."

"For the most part, they (new Lynx players) did as best as you can expect with it being the first game of the season. There is a lot of pressure on them because they’re getting a lot of playing time right away. I was pretty impressed."

"(Seattle) played well. Lauren really stepped it up in the second half and made some big shots for them. They isolated her well and we didn't really adjust to that in time. Late in the game, she made some huge shots for them. They did their job."

Storm Forward Lauren Jackson
"It was just a matter of getting things done and getting a win. That we could pull through at the end was great. To get your first win is always good. Every game counts. It's just one game. Hopefully I can continue on from last year. We'll see how it goes."

Storm Guard Sue Bird
"I don't think anyone is surprised by it (Jackson's performance). It was just a matter of when she was going to do it. Luckily, she did it at the exact time we needed it. We kept going to her because we knew she would pull through for us. She did a terrific job."

"Once she scored two times in a row, I was running every play through her. When she gets hot like that, you have to go to her. To be honest, I don't think there is anybody in the league that can guard her one-on-one. And for some reason, toward the end, they didn't double-team her. And she made some unbelievable shots and getting fouled. What are you going to say? She was ridiculous. We just kept going to her because she's unstoppable when she's on fire like that."

Storm Guard Betty Lennox
"We needed to rebound, and they were just there. I was just out there having fun. I'm happy we got a win. I'm loving this team — the chemistry is coming along. We've still got a long way to go. We're going to have good days and bad days. It's up to us to pull through those bad days."
